Mineral Crystallography and Thermodynamics

The line of research ranges over the fields of crystallography, crystal physics, crystal chemistry, of physical, crystallographic and crystal chemistry characterization of minerals and similar materials of synthesis, classification of minerals, thermodynamics of mineral phases, science and technology of mineral materials, from both an experimental and theoretical point of view. These researches make use of investigative methodologies such as quantum mechanics and quantum mineralogy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron microscopy (TEM, SEM, ESEM), Monte Carlo simulation of electron transport and X-ray generation in solid materials, electron diffraction (ED), X-ray microanalysis (Si-Li, SDD), thermal analysis, infrared and UV spectroscopy.
