Call for Thesis abroad funded by BIGEA Department

The second call for scholarships for preparing your thesis abroad is open for the Academic Year 2023/24 to students of the following Master Degrees:

  • Analisi e Gestione dell’Ambiente (codice 5900),
  • Biologia Marina (codice 8857),
  • Biodiversità ed Evoluzione (codice 5824),
  • Geologia e Territorio (codice 9073),
  • Didattica e Comunicazione delle Scienze Naturali (codice 5704),
  • Scienze e Gestione della Natura (codice 9257).

who didn’t graduate yet and have acquired at least 50 CFU with an average grade of ≥ 27/30.

It allows stays of minimum two (2) months, maximum four (4) months.

The mobility period must not start earlier than the 15th July 2024.

Meeting re the calls Erasmus + for Internships and Thesis abroad

The meeting will be held by Prof. Annalisa Tassoni, Delegate for International Relations for Dept. BiGeA, and will be open to the students of the Department of Biological, Geological and Environmental Sciences (Bologna campus). It will be a presentation of the Call for Thesis abroad funded by BIGEA Department and the Erasmus + Mobility for Internship Call.

Orientation Meeting re international mobility 2023/24

The meeting will be a presentation of all the international opportunities available to the students of the Department of Biological, Geological and Environmental Sciences (Ovearseas, Erasmus+, Call for Thesis abroad etc.). Our tutors for international mobility will be present.

BiGeA students can attend the meeting both in person and online. It will be held by Prof. Annalisa Tassoni, Delegate for International Relations for Dept. BiGeA.

Overseas

Overseas is a mobility program intended for students of the University of Bologna which offers the possibility of studying in partner universities outside of the European Union that have signed mobility agreements with the University of Bologna.

Students enrolled in the second year or above of a first or single cycle programme at the University of Bologna, or the first year of a second cycle degree with suitable language skills and who also meet the other specific requirements of the partner universities can apply to the Overseas call. The deadline for applications the Overseas 2024/2025 call is set for 14 November 2023 at 1pm.

The Overseas financial contribution, provided by University of Bologna, will be calculated on the student’s ISEE (Equivalent Financial Situation Indicator). The deadline for submitting the ISEE is 30 October 2023. Overseas selected applicants who fail to submit their ISEE certifications will be awarded the smallest overseas contribution provided by University of Bologna.

The mobility period must not start earlier than forty-five (45) days or later than six months from the deadline of this call. The call is available at this page.

Field Work call for applications 2023/24 

Through the international mobility programme Field Work students at the University of Bologna can spend a period with NGOs (non-governmental organisations) or other entities active in development cooperation, carrying out activities "in the field" in third countries where such NGOs or other entities operate. 

The call Field Work a.a. 2023/24 - International Student Mobility in Development Cooperation is now available. 

If you wish to participate, these are the steps you will have to follow: 

  • read the call for application and all its annexes carefully;
  • attend the information sessions taking place on Tuesday 24/10/2023 at 2:30 pm and Thursday 09/11/2023;
  • Submit your application online through AlmaRM as of 24 October 2023. Deadline: 1 December 2023, 1:00 p.m.
  • on 24 January 2024 check your position on the ranking lists for the various Field Work places on AlmaRM and, if you are amongst the winners, accept the place online by 26 January 2024, 4:00 p.m.
  • if you are not amongst the winners on the ranking lists published on 24 January, check the updated ranking lists which will be published on 29 January 2024 on AlmaRM; if you find yourself amongst these new winners, you will have to accept the place by 31 January 2024, 4:00 p.m., online through AlmaRM.

Erasmus + Mobility for Internship Call

Erasmus + Mobility for Internships is a student mobility program promoted by the European Union which gives students the opportunity to enrich their training and professional curriculum through work experience abroad, in public or private companies in one of the European countries participating in the Plan.

The call for a.y. 2023/24 has been issued on the 10th of March and is available here. Applications can be uploaded from the 27th of March through the 10th of May at 1PM. The results will be published on the 16th of June and the grants must be accepted by the 23rd of June. Traineeships can start from the 1st of September 2024.

    DAAD grants a range of scholarships in order to promote the internationalisation activities of German universities and research organisations, strengthening German cultural and language studies abroad.

    • TASSEP – Trans-Atlantic Science Student Exchange Program 

    TASSEP is a consortium of member universities from the European Union, Canada and the United States. As an exchange program, TASSEP provides the possibility for students to study abroad simply paying university tuition in their home institution and joining the foreign university with no additional costs. The programme is reserved to students of the scientific sector with B2 level English or French enrolled in years following the first of first cycle degree programmes, or in the first year of second cycle degree programmes.

    • Schwarzman Scholars 

    Schwarzman Scholars is a scholarship initiative in which future leaders selected from around the world will pursue a fully-funded, one-year Master's degree at Tsinghua University in Beijing with distinguished guest lecturers. Schwarzman Scholars will spend considerable time outside the classroom developing firsthand exposure to China and its people through thematic study tours, a mentoring program and internships with key employers in Beijing.
