Analytical resources and methods for bio- and geosciences

Analytical resources and methods utilized nowadays in bio- and geosciences encompass a diverse range of “cutting edge” techniques and methods designed to collect, analyze, and interpret data pertinent to biological and geological fields. The significance of the analytical methods in these fields is critical and very important, as they form the backbone of research endeavors aimed at understanding complex systems and phenomena within the natural world.

Modern biological and geological sciences rely on tools and methodologies capable of revealing multiscale and analytical details, from the atomic/molecular level to the planetary scale. Multi-target experimental techniques and advanced computational modelling enable nowadays the investigation of the structure and dynamics of natural materials, both biological and non-biological, while innovative sampling and analytical protocols open up new perspectives in the study of ecosystems and geological processes. Interdisciplinarity is the fundamental key to this approach, where only the integration and marriage of diverse expertise allow us to address complex questions and challenges about the formation of living and inanimate matter, and their interaction, leading to understanding complex systems and phenomena within the natural world.
