Potentially toxic elements (PTEs) in soils could derive from the natural characteristics of the parent material or from anthropic activities. The study of the chemical composition of soils gives essential information for territorial management at several levels. The study of soil characteristics performed at different depth permits to evaluate the degree of transformation of the system. Detailed study on PTEs bio-availability and speciation furnish further useful information.
