The study of the deep carbon cycle is one of the cutting-edge research area in Earth Sciences. Our group has the know-how to characterize and interpret microstructures of carbon-bearing minerals produced from liquid-rock reactions. The research methods crosscut those typical of petrology and geochemistry and the collaboration with distinguished national and international research groups allow us to obtain high-quality isotope data (e.g., δ13C-δ18O). The ultimate goal of this research line is a better understanding of the carbon trasfer across different lithospheric reservoirs.
