Animal Evolution and Population Biology

Areas: Biology

Evolution is the unifying concept of Biology, and understanding its mechanisms – from species to genes and backwards – represents the main focus of our research.
The Animal Evolution and Population Biology Group works on a spectrum of zoological topics in animal evolutionary biology, using a wide range of technical approaches such as optical, electron, fluorescence and confocal microscopy, karyology, cytogenetic analyses, RealTime qPCR, and High-Throughput Sequencing.
